Hi All.

I installed Joomla 1.0 and now am in the process of migrating to 1.5

I have now got to the installation process of 1.5 and have hit my first problem.

I am getting the error:

(No) PHP mbstring language is not set to neutral.
This can be set locally by entering php_value mbstring.language neutral in .htaccess.

I have searched the internet and cannot find an answer that I understand fully, I have little knowledge of PHP but I am hoping someone can guide me along to get past this error.

Have you tried doing exactly what the error message recommends? (Create a plain text file called ".htaccess" in the root directory of your Joomla installation*, and in it just add the one line "php_value mbstring.language neutral" [without the quotes].)
