Wordpress Woes

Hi all, new to the forums here and I'm quite stuck.

My client has a bi-monthly newsletter that he wants to publish via blog, and other media.

I've set up a WordPress database and root, everything works. BUT! He would like to know if there is a way to edit WordPress's programming, to archive posts into 2 sections per month (Jan1, 2009; Jan15, 2009; Feb1, 2009. etc.)... instead of the regular monthly system.

If that's not possible, does anyone have a work-around for something like this that they've used?

Any help or suggestions are appreciated!

Here's my approach. I haven't dug into Word Press to figure out if that is possible. However, clients often dream up requirements that they really don't need if you can convince of that [wink].

Weasel you're way out of it:
Explain that WP defaults to monthly or by category archives, and for the price your charging [whether its high or low you act as if its an awesome deal] thats how it will work; pose the question: what is the benefit of showing it in 2 chunks per month? If they can't explain the benefit, hopefully with some kind of metric and not just a subjective "well its better" answer, then they don't really need it.

If that doesn't work, implement it:
It might be easier to write a custom php page with an SQL query to pull back the posts in 1/2 month date ranges, and cram that page into the WP pages (via an include?).
