url rewriting

i want to do url rewriting in my application.i have never done url rewriting before. please guide me or send me some useful links.thanks

URL re-writing is normally done at the web server level, not the application level. Assuming Apache web server: http://www.google.com/search?q=apache+url+rewriting

As long as your host allows it you can use mod_rewrite. No need to remember anything when this site is available.
