Hi,
I am setting up php on a new server. one of the options i have is to change the session save path
ususally I would have this as /tmp
sicne the site is fairly busy, it mentions changing it to something like:
3,/tmp
which will distribute the sessions across various directories under /tmp
but then it says that php will not create the directories, so my question is, how does this work? do i have to go in and create directories in /tmp?
how does this effect the automatic deletion of old sessions?
My understanding is that this is actually a better way to go, but im not sure exactly how it helps other than having less files in each directory.
Can someone help me figure this out? 😃
