validation of Name field

Hi to all,

In my form, I want a message to be alerted

when some one enter the Numeric value in the textbox of "Name" field ,

a message should be alert that - "You have entered numeric value, please enter

non numeric (alphabetical words) in the name field"

please suggest me some code for appropriate functioning.

PHP approach:

$name = (isset($_POST['name']) ? $_POST['name'] : '');

if(preg_match('/[0-9]/', $name)) {

}

HTML/Javascript approach:
