How to make rand() generate when user hit BACK

Hi all,
i have these two lines

$e=rand(1,999);
echo $e;

(eg. it prints 456)

user navigates to another page.
then use hit BACK BUTTON.

he sees 456 again.

How can I make it re-generate in a BACK BUTTON situation (like when hit REFRESH).

You can put it into a session and once the user is done (as in completes the form) destroy the session.

If you mean that you want a new number to be generated, I can think of two options:

1) Output headers (Cache-Control, Expires, etc.) that make the page "expired" as of a date far in the past - try to get the browser to force a reload.

2) Use Javascript to generate the number on page load (depending upon what you need to do with the number).
