navigation in flash

hello guyz.
i ran into a little problem, i am currently building a site which has a header in flash (Logo + Main navigation).when that header loades it makes an animation with the buttons and the logo, then it remains static.
the problem is that when a user loads another page from the site the animation is played again...and i don't want this to happen.i want that animation to be displayed only one time, when the site is loaded for the first time.
is there any way to do this except framesets ?

you can set a cookie to determine if the animation has played. Or you can use LoadVars & XML to determine by PHP session if the animation has been played. Cookies is probably the easiest but PHP the most reliable & versitile solution.

Flash navigation: shudder!

It really sucks for people who either don't have Flash installed or who -- like me -- have it installed but disabled in one way or another (I use Flashblock in Firefox).

Oh well, I know marketers and designers love the pretty, shiny things; just please make sure there's an HTML alternative navigation method somewhere on the pages that is not too terribly difficult to find. Please?

THe other alternative is to use a purely JS implementation. Prototype & Scriptaculous can do some pretty cool things. For example www.fredericktourism.org has main navigation that is animated to begin with; however, on subsequent pages it is static.
