How do i transfer information?

Hey,

I have a listing section on my site. And another site offering the same service is wanting to pair up.

Im going to offer his members a listing at a discounted price. But im trying to think of a way the data can be transfered from his site to mine.

The existing listing data on his site is what i need to get into my database. Im guessing cookies arent going to work across domains.

So what other options would we have??

you can connect directly to his db, as long as he sets it up to allow this

If you have phpMyAdmin or some other accessible utility, just dump all the data out as SQL export and be done with it. Otherwise...

1. Duplicate the table structures on your server.

2. Make a PHP page on his server that selects all the data in the database and makes an INSERT query (which goes as text/html output) out of each row. If the data is unusually large, break it into sections.

3. Copy all of the ready-made INSERT statements from his web page into your tool that you can use to upload into your own database.

4. Execute.
