[RESOLVED] Rename images in directory

Hey Guys,

I searched this forum this morning for what I was looking for. I know the post is somewhere in here!

I am trying to rename the file extensions within a directory:

JPG to jpg

eg. : 12345.JPG, should be 12345.jpg

If anyone can point me to the post or maybe help me put I would greatly appreciate it!

You can use str_replace

$string = "12345.JPG";
echo str_replace(" JPG", " jpg", $string);
?>

Yes, I understand that... but what is the best way to go about it?

Should I use the "readdir" function then loop through each file and then use the "str_replace" ??

Use [man]glob/man to search for "*.JPG", iterate through results and use [man]rename/man to replace the last 3 characters of the filename with "jpg".
