Is there a Pay for PHP Support Site?

First of all I'm a noob at php/mysql. I say that so you don't think I'm acting like I'm above those helpful members on this forum.

It's frustrating (I know its free and what do you expect) when I post a thread asking for help and some joker just replys with lame responses, most of the time not even helpful to my situation.

Basically is there a support site for php/mysql developers where you pay for 'better' support/service relating to php/mysql?

Most of the time after writing a thread I resolve the issue myself shortly after. Thus it defeats the purpose of asking for support and just wastes my time posting. Let me know.

That suggests you're doing things in the wrong order: posting in a forum to ask for help is supposed to come after you've exhausted attempts to resolve the issue yourself (see these guidelines).

But if you're willing to pay, it looks like Zend will support general PHP questions as well as its commercial products under its Developer Support contract.

When I finally reached the point where I was solving problems moments after posting I actively started looking for threads to help other people out - as a way to practice and see how much I knew. Then my skills came along much faster...

You probably don't need to pay for support...just do a little extra reading and practicing and you'll have enough tools to solve any problem.

I often found I solved problems after posting so now I'm careful to do extensive searches first - though of course the returned list can be daunting

There is a known reason for solving problems that way - writing it down forces you to carefully explain what the problem is - and by defining it carefully the thought process can suggest an answer

Maybe you should post your queries in a different section of the site where you might get a more informed response - or maybe the people who respond with rubbish should be named and shamed

but there's some very helpful and enormously knowledgeable people here..
