[RESOLVED] mount/mirror contents of directory to another directory

i know the procedure for mounting a directory in linux, but i'm wondering if there is a better way to accomplish my goal, which is this:

i will be uploading web files to one main directory and then i will want to have several other directories replicate the contents of that main directory.

when i update the main directory, the underling directories will automatically reflect the updates (since they're pulling the same files).

also, the underling directories will contain some unique directories that will not be inherited from the main directory.

is that clear as mud? any thoughts welcome.

You either have to alter your upload code to copy to the other directories which is probably the most efficient way or you have to create some kind of cron job which will scan the master directory and compare its contents to those of the slave directories and copy any files that are missing.
