chatroom refresh for IE

So here is my delima, I have an ajax driven chat room and when using IE people cannot see their messages show up in the chatroom. if they go into the browser settings and adjust them to check for new update everytime they visit the page everything works. if they leave it at auto it does not work. meanwhile all other browsers work fine.

I am referring to IE7

has anyone seen this before? if so where you able to fix it?

You need to add headers to your page telling IE not to cache any of the files. You can do this using PHP's header function.

That makes sense but the irony is it doesn't seem to work. the other problem it creates for me is I have graphics that i need cached on other pages. and because i also have a mobile chat room that follows paying members it would cause all pages not to cache 🙁... thanks for the info i will continue to try and make it work.
