Images from blob only partially displayed

hi. i know that storing images in the database is a controversial topic. however, for a variety of reasons, i have chosen this method. my problem is that images 50-60k and greater are only partially displayed when retrieved. usually only about 80% of the image gets displayed and the remainder is gray. smaller images work fine. i'm using a long blob field, and the file size of the blob matches the size of the original file. it's as if php does not know how long the fetched binary data should be. any ideas? thanks.

A couple of suggestions to try to troubleshoot:

1. Make sure you are sending the proper headers first, including proper MIME type and size in bytes. Some browsers are very persnickety about that and give unpredictable results if not done correctly.

2. Flush your output before terminating the script.

3. Ensure PHP isn't giving up and terminating on the client before the client gets all the bytes of the file (because PHP said you're going to get 60,053 bytes, but the client only gets 40,000).

4. Try changing the MIME type so that the browser prompts you to download and save the file instead of viewing. If you open the image up after saving, and it looks fine, then at least you know the data is stored correctly and being sent without error. If it doesn't look correct, then check the actual data in the file; not just the size of the file. The browser may have allocated that space in the file before actually receiving all the bytes and closing the file (just a guess).

5. Try different browser(s).
