[RESOLVED] apache performance question

you know how joomla uses one main file to display all(most) of the content in a joomla site; is there a significant performance hit on apache to serve out the same file to thousands of visitors as opposed to having multiple files?

i've always understood that apache doesn't care which file gets served, even if it's the same file thousands of times.

also, do you know if there is a limit to how many times apache can serve the same file (other than the connection limit)?
