Hello.
For one of my sites, I'm considering offering what is essentially a thumb drive that will hold some offline data and I want it to "auto-update" when the user puts it in their usb (if there is an internet connection).
I've got it working (the autorun.inf launches the default browser, goes to the download page with their unique id already stored on the drive during setup, etc.) but when the download starts, it asks where to save the file and comes up with the default of "desktop" for me and "my documents" for most other standard windows xp/vista systems.
I understand that the user will have to click "ok" or "yes" or something to start the download, but I'm worried they will likely save it to their desktop or my docs folder because it was the default.
Is there a way to force a download to attempt to download to the drive that was plugged in (it may be assigned a different drive letter each time depending on what else they have plugged in at the same time) - how would this work?
...or would it?
Many thanks in advance,
