[RESOLVED] Not inserting data..

I have a line of code, that inserts a row into my table, and it was working but then it stopped.

mysql_query() returns true when I run the query, and the Autoindex number goes up by 1 but the database is not updated with data.. does anyone have any thoughts? Syntax is 100% right

Why don't you post the code. Not to be an a$$ but I've had plenty of correct code that needed a tweek.

It is not necessary trust me.

My database class saves all queries executed in the script. I have about 11 running per execution, at the end of the script I output it to the browser. Each query is exactly what it should be, and when inserted into mysql directly, it works fine.

So your code is 100% correct, and the query is 100% correct, and the database is connected.

This is generally because some of the data conflicts with a table constraint so the record is not saved. This will increase the autoinc value. Look for other unique keys, required columns, not null, foreign key contraints if you use innodb, etc.

More specifically, for example you are trying to save a text in an numeric field, or a negative number in a positive only field, or a floating number in an Int field, or a NULL in a field that does not allow NULLs, or a text string that is too long...

FYI, to the OP. It's generally considered polite to post a simple "test case" which shows us the tables, the data in them, and the code that's not working. We're not mind readers, although a few of us are pretty damned close. Fact is, you're asking us for help, so the more info you give us the more likely we are to find an answer instead of blindly throwing darts at a board and hoping we got it right.

But hey, you don't have to listen to me, it's your answer I'm trying to help you get.

I would rather not show anything that has to do with my code or database, just for security reasons.

But I have discovered that this problem is in fact, due to a completely separate issue so now I have a little more ground to put my feet on to answer this question.

It would have nothing to do with the table constraints if I can copy/paste my query and directly run it in MySQL.

You can show as much or as little as you like. A test case is often not even all that connected to your code. But few people are gonna expend a lot of effort to help you if you can't show an example of what's going wrong.

You're right; we'd never have guessed that. Of course, not seeing any code, how could we?
What did you do? Have multiple elements with the same ID?

I don't understand what you're suggesting, multiple elements with the same ID?

Basically, the empty source attribute for the image tag was calling the page again, only with no strings attached, so if you load that page normally I had a query to DELETE from the database, so it would create it OK then right away delete it.

MySQL query logs revealed the double queries going on, finding the source was a whole nother story.
