[RESOLVED] a code to prevent submittion of form if email doesnt have @ or .com/etc in address

Does anyone have a simple code to prevent email address in a form to be sent off with out it being proper, such as .com/.net/.org and/or @ symbol... thank you for any help you give....

Here is something I built the other day

if (trim($_POST["email"]) != '') {
	$edomain = explode("@", $_POST["email"]);
	$eparts = explode(".", $edomain[1]);
		if($eparts[1] == '') {
		$email = 'none@none.com';
		}
		else {
		$email = $_POST["email"];
		}
	}

It doesn't check for a proper domain but in my case there were idiots that couldn't figure out how to enter a properly formatted email address and it wasn't horribly important for it to be there. But as the mail() Reply-to header needed a properly formatted email address I had to check them and if it was a junk address replace it.

This helped me because like you I wasnt really caring whether or not they were actual email addresses just that they have the @ and .com/etc on them... Thank you for this..

I did try the other listings but it was not working right for me... I am not sure why because it was not showing an error on my server... I need to have them to turn that on tomorrow... but thanks for your input...
