[RESOLVED] .htaccess mod rewrite

I have managed to create a mod rewrite rule below to so that tutorials on my site can be accessed by entering

http://{websitename}/gnulinuxV2/{id}
http://{websitename}/gnulinuxV2/33

This works fine.

RewriteEngine On
Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteRule ^([0-9]+)$ /gnulinuxV2/tutorial_show.php?id=$1

I have since introduced another variable on the end of the url that highlights the category in the menu at the top. I am unsure how I include this in the rewrite rule below.

http://{websitename}/gnulinuxV2/{id}/{page_id}
http://{websitename}/gnulinuxV2/33/PHP

^gnulinuxV2/([A-Za-z0-9]+)/([A-Za-z0-9]+)/?$ gnulinuxV2/tutorial_show.php?id=$1&page_id=$2

Thank you very much for the pointer. I tried the version you gave me and I could not get it to work so I removed the directory at the start and now it works.

Thank you very much for helping me solve my problem. Now I know how to do this with two varibales, it's probably quite simple to add more.
