booking system - which one???

Hi

A client of mine wants to incorporate a calendar for which a user can make an appointment which is then un bookable by anybody else. So far the site has php on it, and I would prefer to use php/mysql if possible.

I have googled and there are lots of options it seems - before I dive in can anybody please recommend anything?

Hi maxelcat, I cant really advise here on a custom PHP solution but I did experiment with drupal a while back. It has a great calendar module and runs on PHP / mySQL. Might be of interest to simply get a few ideas for your own solution. Sorry I cant be of much more help being a newbie. I will be watching this thread for sure. Now that Im beginning to learn a litlte PHP, I am way more interested in seeing how stuff like this is actually built rather than turning it on from a box

yes, would be fun to do it myself, but frankly I just dont' have the time - and also it would put the cost up a lot I'm sure!
