[RESOLVED] adding a <DIV> tag to each word

How can I add a <div></div> tag pair to every word of a block of text that is extracted from a mysql field.

say;

"this is my title" is the content of the field

is turned into;

<div id=style>this</div> <div id=style>is</div> <div id=style>my</div> <div id=style>title</div>

Any ideas?

explode() and foreach()

$newstring = '';

foreach ($words as $word) {
	$newstring .= " <div>{$word}</div>";

Does not make much sense from an html stand point to do that. Why not wrap the whole title on one div?

Thanks to you both.

The reason for the individual wrapping is the client requires the words high lighted with a back ground colour and not the spaces in between. I'll use css to apply a solid background to each of the div's, leaving the spaces in between clear.

I'll give it a whirl and see if I can make it work.

it wont. use <span> instead of <div>.
