upload download files on web browser

I have searched and searched and could not find anything. Where can i find any scripts that allows me to upload my files to my webserver as in doc or pdf files. AND those files will then be auto set as a link to be downloaded at my required page?

Anyone have a line on an opensource image upload class? I need max filesize, thumbnail creation, renaming and that's about it. I've found some proprietary classes, but since it's getting integrated into a open source script, that won't fly for me.
