[RESOLVED] Adding/substracting dates?

I have an array with two different times. I need to know if these times are 5 minutes apart from each other (this could change, maybe I'll need to check if they're 30 minutes apart). I'm just trying to subtract one from the other, but the result seems to be given in hours:

$row[end_time]	-	$row[start_time]
15:27:00	-	06:34:00	= 9
10:28:00	-	12:06:00	= -2
11:56:00	-	11:18:00	= 0

How can I know if they are n minutes apart from each other?
I'll appreciate your help.

Here's the code if if helps anyone

list($hours, $minutes) = split(':', $entry['end_time']);
$endTimestamp = mktime($hours, $minutes);
list($hours, $minutes) = split(':', $row['start_time']);
$startTimestamp = mktime($hours, $minutes);
$seconds = $endTimestamp - $startTimestamp;

The split (incidentally, [man]explode[/man] is preferred, and [man]split[/man] is to be deprecated) and mktime are unnecessary.

Take the difference between the two hours, multiply it by 60, and add it to the difference between the two minutes.

15:27 - 06:34 = (15- 6)*60+(27-34) =  9*60-7   = 533
10:28 - 12:06 = (10-12)*60+(28- 6) = -2*60+22 = -98
11:56 - 11:18 = (11-11)*60+(56-18) =  0*60+38  = 38

Which, incidentally, would avoid your getting different results at certain times of the year.
