[RESOLVED] Regex Match replace string question

Hey everyone been trying figure out how I can

do a match replace on a string.

I basically want to remove commas. I might have a string that looks like

,83,34,34,,394,,34984,9384,

basically i want that to look like 83,34,34,394,3484,9384

im having no luck. i need to readup more on regex.

A simple solution would be:

$str = ',83,34,34,,394,,34984,9384,';
$str = preg_replace('/,+/', ',', $str);

the idea being to replace one or more consecutive commas with a single comma. To remove the leading and trailing commas, use [man]trim/man.
