[RESOLVED] PHP special characters

Hello,

I've a PHP script that lists the directories and files of a partition of my harddisk. Here is the problem : the special characters are not taken into account. I've used the htmlspecialchars function but without success. Here is the piece of code :

$folders .= '<a href="dir.php?rep='.$mydir.$file.'/">'.htmlspecialchars($file,ENT_QUOTES,"ISO-8859-15").'</a>';

The script takes the directories and the files from my harddisk and lists them into a HTML page. The problem is that the folders written with é, è, ' or other accentuated characters are not shown correctly. For example é replaced with another character. what do I have to script to render the French é, è and so on? Thanks

Try htmlentities() instead of htmlspecialchars(), as the latter only deals with "<", ">", "&" and quotes.
