Show current date and time

I am using the following to show the current date and time on a website:

$today = getdate();
$smarty->assign('current_time', $today['weekday'] . ' ' . $today['month'] . ' ' . $today['mday'] . ' ' . $today['year'] .' ' .$today['hours'] . ':' . $today['minutes']); 

It works fine except for two things:

1. It shows for eg. 12:4 instead of 12:04

2. It doesn't account for daylight savings time

What can I do to rectify these problems?

Thank you! That sorts out my missing zero...now for the daylight savings problem - any ideas?

the [man]date[/man] function will factor in DST if your server supports it. the "I" switch will tell you whether or not it does.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I've actually found the problem now. The site uses Prestashop and I hadn't realised that Prestashop assigns its own timezone in the config file. I looked and it was set to Europe/Paris so I changed it to Europe/London et voila! It now shows the right time!
