What do you think of the push to get Chuck Norris onto the next presidential ticket? http://chucknorris2012.com (even a petition to sign)

I signed... I definately believe that anyone should have the chance to make the ticket, and I also didn't want to get a roundhouse kick to the head!

His views aren't completly politically correct (issues page) but I do think his vew on smaller government is spot on

As political discussions have a strong tendency to be divisive and to instigate flame wars on forums, I will come down like a ton of bricks on this thread and any abusive users the moment it degenerates below the level of civil discussion. In fact, my initial instinct is to just close it now, but I'll leave that to the admins lest I be considered too draconian.

I didn't intend to post it for flame value, I honestly believe he has what it takes (though as I stated above) some of his core values don't match mine

I think he meant PHPBuilder in general, not the Echo Lounge sub-forum in particular. And the reason is as I gave above. PHPBuilder is all about people with an interest in PHP coming together to help each other. Political discussions, on the other hand, tend to become all about dividing people into two or more groups and working against each other.
