[RESOLVED] Counting 2 statements

Hello,

I have 2 sql statements
1) select count(task_id) as count_task from tbl_employee_task,tbl_employee where
tbl_employee_task.employee_id = tbl_employee.employee_id group by task_id

2) select count(todo_id) as count_todo from tbl_employee_todo,tbl_employee where
tbl_employee_todo.employee_id = tbl_employee.employee_id group by todo_id

now what I want to display is a list with all the employees who have tasks + todo

is there a way to do it in one sql statement?

1st use a join statement
2nd use code tags around code
3rd I'm unsure what you want to count. you group by task_ID not employee? seems strange (will give you number of employees for that task, wont it?)
4th one easy way to modify would be:

SELECT tbl_employee.employee_id, count_task, count_todo 
    FROM tbl_employee  

        LEFT JOIN (SELECT employee_id, COUNT(task_id) as count_task FROM tbl_employee_task GROUP BY employee_id) AS ctask ON ctask.employee_id = tbl_employee.employee_id
        LEFT JOIN (SELECT employee_id, COUNT(todo_id) as count_todo FROM tbl_employee_todo GROUP BY employee_id) AS ctodo ON ctodo.employee_id = tbl_employee.employee_id
