Hi:

So I have my first database going, and I have my form working finally to add info 🙂

My question is just sort of an "is this an incorrect way to do this...the way you normally would"...(because i was told it is, i just want to clarify 🙂 )

Ok...so the form is for a time sheet for people at my work to fill in...is it bad form to have say 5 rows (one for each day of the week) visible on the form page? ...say sort of a spread sheet view as opposed to a columnar view...

right now I just have it set up in a columnar form, it works, but I think it would be better to have 5 'days' visible and people just fill them in as they please...

So is this a bad way to do it??

the web form and db are two different things, If we are talking about hte web form then the issue is useability, whatss best for you customer, and its hard to say, in this case i suspect you would know how its going to be used with more details than us.

IF we are taking about the db then there are a whole load of standards but a little research on 'normalisation' should get you started.

Ya, its just for the php/html form that sends info to my sql database that you helped me 'session' 😃 So useability i suppose is key...ill make it as easy for them as possible!

yup there's no real 'right' way in this, sounds like its particular to your organisation, so what ever works for you is the best solution
