hey guys i have a little issue.

i'm working on a site where a person can put some information in about themselfs

what happens is that once you wrote a nice long block of info and spaced it and so on you click save and it updates to my database.

but once you call it back in the website i just get 1 huge chuck of text and you lost all your spacings and formating you did while writing the info.

can anybody please shed some light on how i can over come this?

how are they adding the info? I suspect your talking about a line break issue, which can easily be fixed with nl2br($foo), if you want more than line breaks you could provide your user with a rich editor such as mce of fckeditor.

just a note on FCKeditor... make sure you lock it down with sessions so that the uploader cant arbitrarily be called... had a client VPS that got wiped out b/c they were running a non-protected instance of FCK

you can disable the file uploaded, that's what i do for my clients.
