filename length limit when writing to PDF?

previously I've noticed that when creating a PDF using FPDF I must restrict the PDF file name to 32 characters

• now I cant remember if that was just something I encountered on my windows localhost - so maybe its not a hard set limit when on LAMP server

I need a long file name of around 40 characters and want to know if that's possible or I should forget it

should be fine, their are some old file name length limits but 40 shouldn't be a problem in any modern system.

You could try it and see what happens; but looking at the documentation and source code of FPDF there's nothing there that makes any restriction on file name length.
