[RESOLVED] Preventing HTML tags.

Hey Guys i just stumbled onto a problem/bug on my site for the first time that i accidently stumbled on....

i was testing my messaging system on my new site where the people can write messages to one another for some reason i pasted my code from one of the other pages into this messaging block and send it to my database.

when i called the message is showed the content the styles and so on in the message block. is there anyway to prevent this from happening?

not sure i entirely understand your question but if you want to prevent HTML from your user input then simply run it through [man]strip_tags[/man].

ok i did try it and it is working but it works too well.

lets say someone send a html reference link to some one on the site

<img src='something/xyz/looney.jpg' >

instead of completely stripping it can i just show it as text and not process the IMG tag?

htmlentities() thats what i needed!
