how to open a word or excel file inside a browser

Is there a way using which we can display a word or excel file inside the browser window...
If yes, then please let me know..

You cannot display a Word or Excel doc in a browser.

You can convert the document to HTML and display that in a browser but (A) it's not a perfect conversion, (😎 you lose all the cool features of Word and Excel, and (C) this is not a trivial task.

You can make a browser open Word and Excel docs in Word and Excel but then you're not in the browser anymore.

You can also convert the Word and Excel docs to PDF and make the browser open the file in a PDF reader.

Showing word or excel in a browser is a per machine configuration thing for internet explorer.

So if you see it then it is pretty much an illusion, it is not really in the browser.

To tell the browser that you want it to treat it as a Word or Excel document (so that it does whatever special things it needs to do), you use the appropriate "Content-Type:" [man]header[/man].
