Help with query needed

I have two db tables containing member information.

t1.id
t1.name

t2.memberID
t2.gender

t1.id == t2.memberID

When membership registration is complete both tables have entries for a member. When it is complete only partially, Only one table (t1) has info, but t2 does not.

I need to write a query to select on PARTIAL registrations. It seems like a straight shot but I'm stuck somehow... need help.

Looks like all you can do is look for t1.ids that do not exist in t2.

SELECT t1.id FROM t1
WHERE t1.id !IN
(SELECT t2.memberID FROM t2)

Yeah, left join should be used, I haven't gotten my head wrapped around the idea since finding the IN operator....
