MySQL table broken?

I am reading text type data to mysql table(MyISAM) with a php-script and it takes too long, way too long. I am pretty sure the table is broken but Check Tables says that the table is ok. Or maybe my hard drive is broken?

broken table/hdd, very unlikely; issues with your script, likely. How about posting it.

the script works fine with another computer with a new table. If MyIsam table is writen/deleted data all the time for long time and it is fairly big over 1gb. Could the table just starts to brake over time?

The table that script uses has also brake couple times and had to be fixed with mysql administrator. Could the structure of that table still be broken? Is there anythink else to do when repairing a broken table than just runing the repair option in mysql administrator?

Any good books or websites about mysql dealing with these subjects?
