I am thinking to create my own small cms i know it sounds stupid with so many good ones out their but i wana my own 🙂 the feeling of having something coded by myself is different then using someone else code :queasy: no matter mine will not be as good as joomla or drupal but its mine 🆒

anyways so i just wana know whether search engine will be able to crawl thorough my pages because its quite obvious i will be storing everything in database
i had read that search engine had bad time crawling through dynamic content such as flash and db driven website

is it true will i be able to get into search results ?

i just dnt want to write and no body to see it it should be in search engine results

The fact that a site is database-driven should have no impact on search engines. This forum is database-driven, after all, and its Google results and rankings are quite good. The only thing I would suggest avoiding is having every page use "id" as the only URL query string key, as Google -- at least in the past, they may have changed by now -- has warned that such ID values might be ignored. In other words, something like [noparse]http://example.com/index.php?page=123 would be preferred over http://example.com/index.php?id=123[/noparse]. Also, the general consensus seems to be that "search-engine-friendly" URLs are better (do a search on that along with "url rewriting" and "htaccess" for all sorts of info), though I've never seen any empirical evidence that supports this theory.

Flash, a totally separate issue, can be a search engine issue, as search engines generally just look at the HTML text. They cannot "read" images, so any image-intensive page that does not have meaningful alt/title HTML attributes can be a problem if there is no textual information for the search bots to gather and evaluate.

And of course you can use PHP and SQL to automatically generate your sitemap page so that it constantly reflects any updates to the DB. 🙂
