That's what google is about to roll out this year (thanks to MattG for pointing me to it in some other thread).

If this catches on it will definitely have some tremendous after effects.

Since this and GWT is all java or javascript related...I wonder if that will eventually mean the death of PHP...

The death of PHP? Are you serious? Some experts are even doubting if this technology is going to pick up as a standard, while some believe it is going to just another nice Google product.

Restricting a standard to just one or two languages will result in the death of the standard, not of the other languages.
