problem on date format

I have a date field in my page which the format is converted to mm/dd/yyyy and when I view the table in phpmyadmin it is displayed correctly as the standard yyyy/mm/dd format. The problem is recently I notice that when I export the table in csv and view it using ms excel the format is now mm/dd/yyyy. Thus when I import it back to phpmyadmin this will give me a 0000-00-00 result in my table. Anyone knows what seems to be the problem. Thanks

You should export the field in the format of YYYY-MM-DD in excel. It shouldnt show as yyyy/mm/dd in phpmyadmin if the field is in correct date format. Mysql dates are always in the format of YYYY-MM-DD.

sorry my mistake for using small case letter, my date format in my table is YYYY-MM-DD but when I exported it as csv and view it using excel, the format now becomes MM-DD-YYYY. I tried to import again the csv file to phpmyadmin to check but the displayed date now becomes 0000-00-00

open the csv. data correct in there? most probably yes. --> format the cells in Excel properly
