Convert PHP to MS Excel 2007

Hi Guys,

I've recently been using some code to convert my php code into MS Excel 97. It worked great, I have now tested it on MS Excel 2007 and \t doesn't seem to work!?!?! Has anyone got any ideas why or how to get round it. The below code works great as it should in MS Excel 97 but appears incorrect in MS Excel 2007.

In 2007 it does pick up the new lines but not the new cells; \t.

Most likely 2007 is set up to use the comma as the separator for CSV files. I'm pretty-sure you can modify this; however, why not just use a "," as the separator and quote those items that need to be quoted (strings with commas in them for instance).

Take a look at the options for Office 2007. I'm willing to bet you can configure what the separator used is.

And also, [man]fputcsv[/man] might be more convenient to work with; it will handle the necessary quoting and so forth for whatever delimiters you specify.

But still, it's nice to see some things never change: Microsoft still can't get their CSV implementations to work consistently.
