What is wrong with my query?

I'm trying to delete all rows that begins with LIS, but it seems that something is wrong in my query.

The rows is like this:

LIS 00001.jpg
LIS 00002.jpg
XHS 00001.jpg

And so on...

$prefix = "LIS";
$result = "DELETE FROM products WHERE filename LIKE '$prefix%'";

Can someone please tell me what the problem is?

Should it be:

$result = mysql_query("DELETE FROM products WHERE filename LIKE '$prefix%'');

?

Im not sure if you even need the "$result", could it not just be even

mysql_query("DELETE FROM products WHERE filename LIKE '$prefix%'');

The last line of code is almost all the way there 🙂

See how the end of that line is coloured red? This means it's part of a string literal, which means you've failed to terminate your string properly.

" ... LIKE '$prefix%'");

And now it's green as expected.
