[RESOLVED] Dont have access to DELETE function via php code

Hi...I have absolutely NO idea why this is happening, but I do not have privileges to delete rows from my tables in phpmyadmin...

I have set it up in my control panel thing via my host's website (dreamhost) ... I can insert, update, select...do everything...except delete.

here is a screen of the error i am getting:

but if you look at what my panel looks like:

as you can see I have access granted for all...and everything else works well...

I CAN delete records if I am doing it within the database (how to explain...like if i go to phpmyadmin and then hit the X, it will delete) ... but if i try running the sql query from my php page...error

any ideas?

Most likely you have a syntax error in your delete query, or you're running php admin as one user and the script is running as another with more restrictive access.

hmm..not sure. as far as I can tell there are no errors. and I am definitely the admin...and when the error pops up it says denied for user Toadums, which is definitely the right one, cause he has all his permissions set in the control panel.

Here is the chunk of code I use:

is there any errors?

really not sure what to do about this one. I emailed dreamhost support to ask, but so far they havent been able to find an answer >.<

Now I've actually followed your links as well, and most definitely: you do not have delete access to that table. At least not unless you have set up some really strange error reporting yourself...

So what does this tell you?

SELECT * FROM information_schema.TABLE_PRIVILEGES WHERE TABLE_NAME = 'tblProjects'

And what does this tell you

SHOW GRANTS

And do run this from a php script or wherever else delete is NOT allowed.

thanks for the answer! I actually heard from dreamhost support, the problem was that I had a capital P...pdem_Projectss 😛 oops!

MySQL is nonstandard in that it treats SQL identifiers case-sensitively - on some platforms.
