I want $_SESSION to unset...

Hi all,

I've changed my php.ini file so sessions last for 30 days.

This is great for most users - and on my login box, i had "Stay Signed in" ticked.

What i would like to do now, is any user who unticks this box, have the session unset when the browser window is closed, and they come back to the site.

Is there anyway to tell that a user left the page, closed the browser, and came back to the site?

so i can unset it.

Send a cookie that lasts for the current session only and put some random value in it. Store this random value in your persisting $_SESSION array so that you can check on each page load to see if they still have the same session. If the values don't match, they must have closed the window and came back (meaning the cookie expired and they grabbed a newly generated one).
