[RESOLVED] Recreating Twitter @username link

I'm trying to recreate Twitter's "in reply to" link and I can't figure it out.

My sample text is "@ that's so cool" and I'm trying to select the username with.

preg_match('/@(.*)/', $comment, $reply_username)

but it selects the entire comment instead of the username by itself.

Any ideas?

@([a-zA-Z]*)

You could also use \S for non-white-space characters, if a username could include punctuation, numbers, etc.:

'/@\S*/'

i tried \b for word boundary but wasn't happy with it, also have no idea what is valid in a twiter user name, never used twitter my self.

$comment="@username that's so cool";
preg_match('#^@([a-z]*)#i', $comment, $reply_username) ;
print_r($reply_username);

with and with out the @ depending what you need.
