Query Results Display

I need to display four advertisements on ONE page. Two display in the left hand column and the other two display in the right hand column. Currently I am running two separate queries - each retrieving two ads. The problem is, I risk display an advertisement TWICE on the same page.

Is there a way - to submit ONE query, and display the first two records in the left hand column and the second two records in the right hand column?

Or a method I can use to be sure I dont display the same ad more than ONE time per page view?

store the results of the querry, echo the 2 o the left and the 2 on the right
