Inserting adsense ad in mid of the text.

Hi,

I was thinking of getting my articles to have a break in the middle so I can insert adsense ads. Many news sites, wordpress blogs(I know there is a plugin) are doing this but I don't know how to go about it with my article directory site. I am trying for a long time but fails I followed a resolved thread from here:

Is there anyway to count the word and put the ad code coz there is one variable for word count:

$wordcount = $row['word_count'];

as in Article details:

$arttext = $row['textArticleText'];

the first option that comes to mind is explode the string on space then reassemble the string adding your ad.
