Hi, I'm looking for a blog tutorial that will show you how to create a custom blog with admin area for editing, adding and deleting entries. I Googled this but the results that come up seem outdated. I'd like something that shows how to access MySQL securely and is up to date

Off-hand I don't know of any good tutorials. Depending on why you're asking, you could always take a look at the several open-source PHP-based blog scripts that are out there, either to use as-is, modify for your particular needs, or study to see how others have done it.
I'm looking for training and to use. I'll check out the link and see if I can download scripts and learn from others. Just looking to get the basics down - nothing fancy. I'd like to learn OOP and I thought that I could kill two birds by studying a tutorial and implementing my own. Thanks for the suggestion
