Hi there everyone,
I know that this is one of the crappiest types of requests, grabbing what seems like arbitrary code from a previously written script and asking for help with it, but I don't know how else to do it. I apologize for the ambiguous nature of it and would be happy to provide more information if needed.
First, the problem: I have a PostNuke install(.762) that has been moved from server to server three times. This last time, it developed a problem that never existed before. That being when apache is restarted, the script is unable to keep user's sessions for more than 10 minutes or so. After a day or two of this, it reverts to keeping you logged in. To clarify, normally, you are logged in until you log out. For a couple days after a server or apache restart, people get logged out while browsing if they take too long to draft a post or go eat a donut.
I've tried clearing the session table in the database, but that did no good. I tried deleting my cookies as well, but again no improvement.
The natives are getting angry 🙂 I normally receive 10-20 scathing emails from people that lost a huge post because they lost their session and the post went to the netherworld.
Here's the PostNuke session functions. I've looked at them, but TBH, I'm too ignorant on this topic to make any necessary alterations to it. It's a good time to test though since I restarted Apache last night and everyone's getting logged out again 😃
I would love some help on this issue and again, I'm sorry for the jumble of script.
thanks,
json
