Not Sure What I Need To Do HELP!

Hi!
I know how to make a php form, and I know how to make it "echo" in a template, but...I don't know how to do this:

Every time a user on my website fills out this form and it echoes into an html template (the form results), I want that page saved to the file manager or web shell directory.

Is this possible?

For instance, this is the form I want to create. I'd like for the "Character Name" to be saved as the name of the web-page.

Example: Character's name is Bob Stephens, then the page should be published as: Bob_Stephens.php

Is this possible?

Yes its possible, but its not suggested. You should never save the data with design.

And you had better done if you save the results into a database instead.

Lets create an html form from this idea.
The inserted name tags determine the $_POST indexes.
If you build a select box for multiple selects, you need to handle the results on server side.

First you need your form converted to a HTML.

If you dont know how todo this, then you can get a HTML Editor like Frontpage/Dreamweaver which will help your to create one of these forms.

Each form field needs a unique name, so you can access the values via PHP.

You then need to create a PHP script to create a text string from the values:

The easiest way, is to just store all submitted variables as a string:

file_put_contents($filename, $s);

Note: As you can see, the "name" parameter is used as the filename. You need to make sure this is valid and one that wont overright other files.

In general, HTML forms that arn't generated via PHP, dont contain validation. You can validate FORM's via JavaScript, but you should always validate via PHP as well.

But, thats the easiest method for you.

1) Create a FORM using a WYSIWYG editor
2) Make sure each field has a unique name.
3) Set the action attribute of the FORM to a URL of the PHP code.

Bingo, you have a simple form. BTW, this is the same method as a FORM to Email, except you arn't emailing the resulted string.

Actually, emailing the data might be better than saving it to a file.
