images are not displayed after db import

Hi all,
I have exported the db from my server and imported it locally on my pc.
I used both quick backup from the server's cpanel and also the regular export from PHPMyadmin just in case there was something wrong with the export but in both cases the photos are not displayed localy on my pc after the db import.
When I run the site locally all the text data from the db are displayed fine except the photos which are not displayed. I get the little square box with a red dot in it when use FireFox. I have tried everything (php.ini etc) and so far i have no luck.
The site runs fine at the server.
I want to believe that it is something that has to do with the configuration of my pc's Wamp server but i am not sure.
Any ideas?

what url is being written for the images in the page html ?

It could also be that the data wasn't exported/imported properly somehow and the binary data was corrupted.

Not sure how you'd verify this, however... perhaps posting a portion of the DB export (if you can split it up) or even the entire export (if it's not too large) for others to try?.
