embeding a player in my site

hi,
I have the problem in embeding the player,
i have thumbnails of the videos in my site
when thumbnail is clicked the video will be played in the player
how should i embed it with the thumbnail, i am displaying the thumbnail from the database,
the videos are in swf form.

please help me in this

are you relying on a user having a video player installed on there machine or are you hosting one on your site (ala you tube)
