best way to esape html and print

I have a large html page that is generated after data is placed into a database, what is the quickest way to escape all html tags and echo the page back without having to place "\" and determine ticks en casements?

I've tried assigning the page via get_file then echoing it, but its required to display residential variables and they don't seem to get carried over this way.
